Studio Policies

Classes

Please bring students 10 and under no sooner than 10 minutes prior to class. Please pick them up no later than 10 minutes after class. Students 10 and under must have parental supervision when not in the studio. Please make every effort to pick up your child within ten minutes after class. This is most important at the end of the day.

Towards the end of the day, if you pick up after the ten minute time frame please look for your child in the upstairs office or in one of the studios where the last class of the day is in session. Students will not be left in the lobby unattended. For their safety students being held in the office/studio will not be allowed to leave by themselves. You must pick them up in person.

If students 11 year of age and older have a break longer than one hour and a half between classes they need to be picked up from the studio. If students are waiting at the studio between classes or before classes they need to be engaged in tasks such as homework, reading, or stretching/conditioning.

Rehearsals
Please bring students 10 and under no sooner than 10 minutes prior to rehearsal. Please pick them up no later than 10 minutes after rehearsal. Students 10 and under must have parental supervision when not in the studio. Students 11 and up should be dropped off 10 minutes prior to rehearsal and should be picked up/leave the studio 10 minutes after their last rehearsal is finished. If they have a break longer than one hour and a half between two separate rehearsals they need to be picked up from the studio.

If students are waiting at the studio between classes or before classes, they need to be engaged in tasks such as homework, reading, or stretching/conditioning.

Very Important Policy: Students are not allowed in a studio unless there is a faculty member present. This is for their safety.

Some studios and schools charge a fee to parents that are late picking up their child at the end of the evening. We never want to impose that kind of an incentive. We know that everyone is making their best efforts, and we are aware that sometimes circumstances are out of an individual’s control.

Ultimately, we love the warm and welcoming atmosphere of our school, but we also need to take care of each individual while they are under our roof. These policies are coming from a place of love and care for your children. If you ever have any questions about drop off and/or pickup in a specific situation, please do not hesitate to call! Schedules can get quite complicated as we all know ūüôā

Behavior Policy

FineLine is enriched by the diversity of its members. FineLine recognizes and respects individual differences in culture, race, ethnic origin, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. To provide an environment of respect and sensitivity, it is important that all students recognize that behavior, whether verbal, written or physical, which disregards or demeans the self-esteem of others, is unacceptable. Such behaviors are unacceptable regardless of how they are communicated. Any individuals engaging in such behaviors will be subject to disciplinary action.

Going forward, any complaints about the behavior of a student will be investigated in the following manner: A meeting with Kerry, Elizabeth, or Scott, will be called with all parents and students involved. The student, and or parent, must be able to voice their complaint in front of the person they are having issues with. Both sides will be given the opportunity to express their feelings and point of view.

This policy is for the fair treatment of every student. We will not take action on hearsay, gossip,or a complaint that is only being voiced to us without the other party present to defend themselves

Studio Closings

We generally follow the closing schedule of the New Milford School system for weather closings.

If New Milford Schools have a delayed opening, our morning classes (before noon) are cancelled.

If there is an early dismissal, our afternoon and evening classes are cancelled.

When New Milford schools are closed due to weather, we generally are, as well. On a rare occasion, we may opt to hold classes if the weather has cleared significantly and the roads are safe to travel on.

If the studio is closed, we will send out an email to registered families and post the closing on the Fineline Facebook page and Twitter Account.
