SHREK, JR.

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical.  It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.  Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

Mary Poppins, Jr.

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”

About The Workshops:
Improving on the Improv taps into the part of most student’s brains that seldom gets fully activated or utilized and is the most powerful tool available to build confidence in student performers. Students will learn to create expression, imagination, and appreciation in group dynamics. They will create scenes and narrative structures and develop their improv skills through games and learn to make, accept and extend offers in improvisation.

Fractured Fairy Tales, written by Robin Frome, will be scenes that are ‘takes’ on fairy tales with modern lampooning. (Rapunzel, Rumplestilskin, Snow White, etc.)
